Knickerbocker Group is seeking a senior level Interior Designer to work on our design/build team as well as directly with clients. The ideal candidate is creative and enjoys working in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creation and coordination of construction documents

  • Participate in the selection and preparation of proposals for the procurement of furniture, furnishings, and decorative lighting.

  • Research and specification of interior materials and finishes

  • Specification of architectural lighting and plumbing fixtures

  • Specification and coordination of appliances and other specialty equipment

  • Development of presentation material including concepts and 3D renderings

  • Collaboration with Architecture and Construction teams as well as any outside consultants such as landscape architecture, MEP, and Structural consultants

  • Interface directly with clients and capture client decisions

The ideal candidate:

  • has advanced project management skills

  • demonstrates strong organization and time management skills

  • has strong verbal and written communication skills

  • is self-motivated and works well under pressure with minimal instruction for routine tasks

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Interior Design or Architecture

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in residential architecture/ design

  • Knowledge and understanding of construction management

  • Technical proficiencies:

    • Microsoft Office required

    • Adobe Create Suite required

    • Sketchup required

    • Revit required

    • AutoCAD preferred
